Abstract

Background. In the conditions of active socio-economic development of social systems, new vectors of transformation of the social institution of education are defined. Increasing the competitiveness of universities in the regional educational services market is the most important factor in achieving the strategic goals of the educational institution, on the one hand, and the formation of the university environment, on the other. The purpose of the article is to measure the parameters of the university environment of students in Belgorod region.
Materials and methods. The results of an empirical measurement of the parameters of the university environment by student youth, conducted in May–June 2018, were used. The study included methods of system analysis, a sociological survey, the method of quantitative and qualitative data processing.
Results. In the framework of the study, significant determinants of the professional choice of young people, the vectors of the strategic development of the university were identified, and the indicators of the university’s performance in assessing student youth were analyzed.
Conclusions. The totality of performance indicators of the higher education institution shows the level of the university’s customer-oriented nature in the context of the socio-economic development of the region, and the significance of such indicators as education quality, pricing and prestige for students determines the vector of university and proves the level of university’s client orientation at the regional level.
